About the Founder
Ms. Wade is the founder and CEO of Young Ladies of Tomorrow, Inc. She has dedicated her life to personally providing opportunities for girls to blossom into healthy women. She has over 20 years experience in working with adolescents involved in the juvenile justice or foster care system. Ms. Wade is a licensed professional counselor via the School of Professional Counseling. She has worked as a consultant with Child and Family Services, Progressive Life, and Boys Town as a therapeutic foster parent. For more than 11 years, she has worked as a consultant with the Social Services Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court providing a youth development program to at-risk-girls. As the founder and owner of Helen and Company Beauty Salon, Ms. Wade has also proven herself as a savvy businesswoman. She oversees all aspect of a full service cosmetology / image consulting business. The vision of YLOT self-esteem / mentoring program was born from the heart of Helen L. Wade over 20 years ago. During this period, Ms. Wade has professionally and personally provided opportunities for girls to blossom into healthy women. All of the benefactors are youth residing in the DC Metropolitan Area.
In 1999, YLOT was officially incorporated to be operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 to provide a youth development program. The organization’s EIN is 52-2203869 and is located at 78 U Street, NW Washington, DC 20001, (202) 332-7121. In furtherance of such purposes, YLT is authorized to provide basic skills, therapeutic recreation, and cultural activities; as well as providing workshop sessions that target issues including Attitude Adjustment, Health and Wellness, Job Readiness, and Image Building, that will enhance self-esteem, motivation and instill success.
Today, in conjunction with the Social Services Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court, YLOT is providing a youth development program to at-risk girls. YLOT consists of a team of committed professionals with stellar credentials in the field of counseling, criminal justice, medicine, education and business. This team brings over 150 years of combined experience and service. They are committed to sharing their community, business, and life experiences with these at-risk-girls.
